Profile

 

Hi, my name is Valentine. I am 25 years old and I have been the Horse Pilot South of France Sales Representative for 3 years. I am currently living in Lyon. I am originally from the department of Ain, where I went to high school in an agricultural establishment!

After my high school diploma, I spent 9 months doing a civic service, a very enriching experience especially when you are only 18 years old. Then I obtained a degree in animal production with option breeding and valorization of young horses. These 2 years have been rich in encounters, in self-improvement and of course in equestrian experience!!!

I have kept a small (or big) memory of this experience: my pony Starlette (and yes, I remained in the pony team and no, I didn’t choose her name) who still shares my life today. After these 2 crazy years, I settled down and spent nearly a year working at Decathlon, what motivated me to continue in the business but more focused on my passion.

Then, I applied for a professional Bachelor’s Degree in equine product marketing in Saumur. And that is where I met Horse Pilot, during a horse show in Paris. In 2016, I arrived as an intern for 6 months at Horse Pilot and I have been hanging on to it ever since (don’t worry, I am not an intern anymore!).

Your role at Horse Pilot

 

I am the South of France Sales Representative. So I am on the road all year long, either in the stores to present our new collections or in competition to meet you and help your saddleries.

your relationship to horseback riding

 

I started horseback riding at the age of 6, after riding with my cousins. I have never stopped since. The first horse (or pony) that changed my life as a rider was Néo, a great pony with whom I competed a little (at a low level) and who ended up being bought and moved out of my club…

But my favorite will always be my Starlette who teaches me so much. Being often on the road, I ride her only once a week, but I have 2 people who take care of her in my absence and make her progress. So we stay at the leisure stage for the moment with a small objective of show jumping competition at the end of the season, just to have a little fun.

Your passion for sports

 

Horseback riding has always been my only activity practiced in clubs. In high school, I played volleyball and badminton. I like to go swimming in the evening to strengthen my back. I forget everything when I am in the swimming pool and focus on my breathing. Since the beginning of 2020, I do fitness at home 2 to 3 times a week.

Your favorite horse pilot outfit

 

It is a very difficult choice… For winter I would say: my X-Plosive breeches with a Summer Tempest sweatshirt and a Celsius sleeveless jacket without forgetting the compression socks which are magic to avoid the feeling that your feet break when you get off the horse. For the summer, simple and efficient: my X-pure breeches with the Horse Pilot Team.
