My name is Laura Demaille, I’m 26 years old. I live in the countryside next to Lille, right next to the office and the stables. After my high school diploma, I was supposed to enter the preparatory classes but at the last moment, I took a year off to ride horses, work in a few stables and groom on competitions. Then I went back to school with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics in distance learning, and after that I joined EDHEC for a Master’s degree in Business Management. During my studies, I did my internship at Horse Pilot where I worked on the launch of our Pop Up Store on competitions in Europe. After 6 months I left to finish my studies in Canada and came back to the team at the beginning of 2019!
your role at horse pilot
I am in charge of Events, Partnerships and Ambassador Riders.
your relationship to horseback riding
My parents were riders and my father always had a horse, so I started very young. First on ponies and then quickly on horses. Later, in parallel, I started to do vaulting. I was also riding in show jumping competitions and that’s what I kept doing when I had the chance to ride a top horse that took me to my first 1m30.
When I came back from Canada I bought a mare, Virgule, with a lot of personality, very sensitive but with a huge heart and desire. It took us a long time to find each other and I slowly took over the “Amateur Élite”, so we ride together with my father on the same competitions! When I’m not travelling I ride every day and otherwise I work with a professional rider who does an incredible job on my horse.
your passion for sport
I have always practiced other sports besides horse riding. I have been doing gymnastics for a very long time for vaulting and I have been running since college, more or less intensely depending on the periods but I have never stopped.
your favorite horse pilot outfit
My must-haves: the Suntech & the Storm jacket, whether at the stables or on competition, technicality, comfort & elegance. I also fell in love with the new Aerotech 2.0 in Burgundy.
