On your masks

24 April 2020

As the world’s population enters a new extended period of lockdown and learns day after day to cope with this unprecedented way of life, we have taken the initiative to launch the production of washable masks made out of materials from our products following the guidelines of the DDPP (departmental delegation for the protection of populations) and the patronage of the Grenoble University Hospital.

We had rushed to launch mask production from our factories as soon as the crisis began. Besides, we agreed to directly solicit Horse Pilot’s teams working from. The product team traces the patterns, the salesmen cut out the materials at home and then it is Anne-France’s turn, who usually takes care of the personalization of your jackets, to assemble the masks from our workshop in the north of France.

The masks are directly cut on the Horse Pilot technical textiles. You will therefore probably recognise the fabrics of the 3-layer Element jacket on the outside and the fleece material of the Tempest jacket on the inside. The result is very satisfying from a comfort and protection point of view. Our masks are washable at 30 degrees.

These masks are not intended for hospitals as they do not comply with FFP2 standards. These are personal protection masks for all those in need: home care workers, truck drivers who supply food warehouses, police officers working to maintain lockdown, town hall staff who keep on providing public services… Then we also make some available to stable managers and their staff to protect them. They too are compelled to go to work every morning to take care of our horses.

They are distributed for free and in order of priority. The available amounts do not allow us to supply the general public. As demand is high and growing, we do our best every day to increase production and speed up delivery.
