A new commitment – Recycle your riding clothes!
For us it is inconceivable to love horses without loving nature.
Innovation is part of our DNA. Very present in our products, we try to transcribe it also through the operations which we make you take advantage of all along the year. In 2019, innovation also means putting in place sustainable and responsible actions on the textile market. Like fashion giants, we decided to set up such actions with our own strenght. To do so, we join the LE RELAIS company. The goal is to recycle your riding clothes, whatever their brand is.
Where will these clothes go?
- All textiles collected by Le Relais are destined to be sorted and packaged in one of the 14 approved Relais centers. Clothes will be recycled in different ways: Sold in one of 73 “Ding Fring” stores for clothes in better condition
- Transformed into wool of thermal insulation and acoustic Métisse®; a range of high-performance and quality building insulation
- Sent to 3 delocalized sorting centers in Burkina Faso, Senegal and Madagascar. Those three sorting center show the Relay company’s wish to create sustainable jobs in developing areas. There, clothes will be again sorted, sold or recycled. These centers support the local economy.

About the network Relay
The Relais is a network of companies that has been working for 30 years to help people who are excluded by creating sustainable jobs. As a member of Emmaüs France and IRFS, Inter Networks of Solidarity Fiber, Le Relais carries with it the values of solidarity and generosity defended by the Abbé Pierre (famous French Catholic priest). It strives to fight against the causes of exclusion, basing its action on the belief that work is a way to help people in difficulties to preserve their dignity, to regain their financial independence and their place in society. Therefore, the company has developed several economic activities, which enabled it to create more than 2,200 jobs.
The Métisse® thermal and acoustic insulation
The Métisse® Flocon Range is loose insulation by blowing on lost attic floors. They are frayed fibers resulting from the recycling of textiles at the end of their life, mostly cotton. The use of these bio-sourced materials also makes it possible to support short production circuits, as well as to limit the environmental impact of the transport of goods, and to develop local jobs that cannot be relocated, which is the very foundation of Le Relais.
Le Relais Métisse supplies itself with cotton frayed fabric exclusively through the French network of Le Relais (collection, sorting, fraying of jeans at the end of their life), thus allowing to control, and to guarantee, the quality of the fiber. Only the processing of the raw material is done in Belgium, 40mn from the Relais Métisse production site (Nature of the biosourced constituents of the product: recycled cotton).
Ding Fring: solidarity thrift stores
The 85 Ding Fring stores offer a wide range of clothing, shoes, household linen, leather goods… selected from quality items in very good condition collected by Le Relais. The arrivals are permanent and the minimum prices are guaranteed. While making good deals, this network contributes to create jobs for people in situation of exclusion.
