PACKAGING AT THE CENTER OF OUR ATTENTION
Because we think that an eco-responsible approach is above all a global approach, we put the packaging of our products at the heart of our efforts. At Horse Pilot, we divide our packagings in two categories: those we use to deliver our partner shops, and those we deliver directly when you order on our website. Our objective: no over-packaging, no useless gaps, to produce as little waste as possible, and to limit the use of materials. In 2020, 90% of our packaging is eco-recyclable. In 2022, we aim for zero plastic and 100% recyclable.
ECO-DESIGNED PACKAGING
All our products are individually packed directly in our factories in order to protect them as well as possible. The packaging of our accessories (belts, socks, etc.) is designed to highlight the product while limiting the amount of cardboard used. Our clothes are packed in 100% biodegradable corn starch bags. We have also removed the plastic fastener from our labels and replaced them with cotton fasteners. Thanks to these actions, we avoid the use of 3000kg of plastic each year.
ONE BOX, MANY TRIPS
When we receive deliveries from our factories in our warehouse in Cysoing, the products arrive in large cartons that are often in good condition. We try as much as possible to reuse these boxes to deliver our stores. Our partners are also sensitive to these small responsible gestures and optimize their orders as much as possible in order to limit shipments. So far, 5000 boxes have been saved.
PACKHELP
By ordering our packaging from Packhelp, we participate in reforestation, use certified materials and are part of the growing movement for the planet. The packaging we offer is now FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. This is the most recognized proof of eco-responsibility in the packaging sector and Horse Pilot is committed to working with companies having the same eco-responsible values.
In addition, the packaging is manufactured locally in Europe, which reduces the transportation footprint compared to products manufactured and imported from the rest of the world.
BIODEGRADABLE AND COMPOSTABLE MATERIALS
All our shipping boxes from Packhelp are made of FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified corrugated cardboard and are composed of a majority of recycled materials. They are fully biodegradable and recyclable. Whenever possible, these packages are printed with water-based inks and contain no petroleum-based plastics. The industrially compostable boxes used by Horse Pilot decompose into CO2 and other valuable nutrients in 6 to 12 weeks in a suitable industrial environment.
Finally, Packhelp products with the “recyclable” ecological characteristic have been tested and certified as recyclable by Interseroh, one of the leading service providers for the recovery and recycling of transport packaging.
